It’s over for the Tribe. Once again, wait ‘til next year.

Finally, Obama proposes something that will promote liberty. His flip flop has nothing to do with the fact that he’s raking in the cash, of course.

Railing against whitey.

Obama quits his church of twenty years. It’s not easy to say which is worse – Obama’s obvious political expediency or this reporter’s water-carrying for Obama.

Obama said,

I’m not denouncing the church, and I’m not interested in people who want me to denounce the church. It’s not a church worthy of denouncing.

Really? Not worthy of denouncing? Then why leave it? Maybe because it served its purpose – getting him elected to the US Senate – and now only hurts his chances of being elected president.

The reporter, Michael Powell, writes

The church has proven to be a political albatross for Mr. Obama for many months. Earlier this year, television stations began playing an endless video loop of Mr. Wright damning the United States for its sins of slavery and genocide against American Indians.

The “endless loop” excuse was Obama’s (original) excuse for Wright’s ridiculous statements. Obama said the endless loop of a few seconds put Wright’s statements out of context. That excuse was quickly exposed as nonsense by Wright’s performance at the National Press Club.

The latest “controversy” resulted from the remarks of Fr. Pfleger – at Obama’s now former church. Powell tries to help Obama by writing that Pfleger is “known as a radical gadfly.” In other words, Pfleger is a nut, and Obama shouldn’t be criticized every time some nut says something nutty. The problem with that argument is, of course, that Pfleger is a long-time friend of Obama, and Obama has identified him as one of his spiritual advisors.

Powell ends his “report” with this:

Now that Mr. Obama has addressed his ties to the church and pastor in a long speech and fully broken with both, it is not clear what else he can say or do to ameliorate the continued concerns of some voters about those associations.

How unfair to tie Obama to a church he attended for twenty years and to two radicals that Obama voluntarily associated himself!
